IIT Kharagpur Post Doctoral Fellowships 2013
INTRODUCTION
Application for Post Doctoral Fellowship for the AUTUMN SEMESTER : 2013-2014 in IIT Kharagpur. The Institute may award Post Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) with a view to providing an opportunity to competent researchers to do independent research work in an appropriate area.

The Post Doctoral Fellowship shall carry fixed monthly fellowship at a rate, fixed depending upon the experience of the candidate, in any of the rates/groups prescribed by the Competent Authority/MHRD.
COURSE AND ELIGIBILITY
Eligibility:
Post Doctoral Fellowship is intended for person normally below 35 years of age. However for persons from teaching institutions recognized by
AICTE/UGC or persons sponsored by DSIR recognized industrial organizations, the maximum age limit shall be 45 years.
Post Doctoral Fellowship will be awarded to persons who have a Ph.D. degree and have published research work/patents to their credit.
Fellowship should be available to Indian as well as Foreign Nationals.
Age limit: 35 years. The age limit may be relaxed in exceptional case
CAREER PROSPECTS
A Fellow may be permitted on the recommendation of the Head of the Department/Centre/School to attend an international conference abroad once during his/her tenure after completing one year for which he/she will be treated to be on duty and shall be entitled to the payment of
i) Partial travel grant, with a maximum of Rs. 40,000.00
ii) Registration fee, limited to US$ 300.00
iii) Such cases will be monitored by a Committee, headed by the Dean (PGS&R).
Contingency Grant:
A Post Doctoral Fellow will be paid Rs. 25,000.00 contingency grant per annum.
Duration of the Fellowship: one year
PAY PACKAGE
Selection process:
The selection of Post Doctoral Fellowship will be made on the recommendations of a Selection Committee.
The Selection Committee will make its recommendation on the basis of the bio-data, list of publications and recommendation of the referee etc.,
Based on an interview and presentation of the applicants. However foreign candidates are exempted to appear personally before the selection committee.
